no, um...you need to go into the services listing and actually stop the messenger service.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Find "messenger" and stop it. Either that or install a firewall or get behind a router.

What do you have running in your system tray?

Further, have you tried installing a software firewall to monitor what's calling out?

Man, I am seeing more and more of this sh1t all the time. Are these sites getting paid per view or do they think this forced down your throat pop up sites are going to spur buisiness?

Between multible firewalls (software and hardware), antivirus program, ad-aware, spybot S&D, and being semi careful where I surf, I have managed to not have my personal machine hit with this crap.

Sometimes it is less of a head ache to just back all your stuff up and reformat.

What's UD-Agent? Further, I think Dhawk might be right. I think you might have gotten hit with something so nasty (and annoying) that you should just back up & format...unless you can find a solution on google. Sorry I can't be more helpful nick.

Oh, before you do that, have you updated ad-aware, then scanned? (just covering the basics)

weird... if Ad Aware didn't pick it up, and Grisoft AVG Antivirus didn't find anything, I'm at a loss for words. Go to add/remove programs and look at all the installed programs and see if anything there looks foreign.

Ok, run adaware, spybot search and destroy, CWShredder (this will most likely fix your problem), and install a program called spywareblaster. If that still doesn't work, you will have to run a program called HiJackThis.

D'oh, I forgot about HiJack This. Be careful with it...if you kill the wrong thing you might end up having to reinstall anyway.

edit: OH...that's what UD agent is. I see...should be harmless.

HiJack This is powerful, and if you do need to run it, post the log it scans and we can help you take out what you need to take out. Being careful with it is very good advice.

Hrmm..damn. It was the latest version right? And you ran it without any browser windows open (including windows explorer?) Ok then, you will have to get HiJcak This. Run it, but do not take anything out yet. Post the scan file here and I can help you with what to take out.

Try also installing spywareblaster.
