Poor Performance with Tbird 1100

I have a Tbird 1100 with 256 RAM and a Geforce 2 GTS 64 Pro. I got the 6.31 drivers installed for the geforce and I have a MSI KT7 Pro-2-a. I'm using bios 1.9 with that. I get like 30 fps in 3d mark 2000 on low detail. I should be getting more than that. What could be wrong? Thanks.

What operating system? Do you have the Via 4in1 drivers installed?

Yikes...that Pro2A scares me with all of the recent problems we've been hearing about here.

Yeah I had them installed. Should I have them installed in Turbo mode or in Standard mode?
Windows ME, I'll try 98 SE if that might help.

Should I try a different KT7 Bios.

Did you upgrade this machine or build it new? If you upgraded it, did you format first or at least delete the drivers (and from the registry)?

Any idea what week your MSI K7T Pro2A is? (look on the south bridge- it's a chip that says "Via" on it- there are two, but look at the lowest one on the board. Does it say 0043 on it? There seems to be a problem with especially with week43 Via 686B south bridges.

Installed the turbos and its running faster now. 7026 in 3dmark 2000

So I think that was the problem. I still wanna see if this is week 43.
My only question is whether its worth it to update the bios.

Lazyboy try their new Beta Bios that allows you to play with the 4way interleave this should greatly increase performance.

ausm, that will help, but 30 fps is far too low for such a great system even without 4 way interleaving.
