HI everyone!

I need some help. I'm having a problem with super crapy performance with my Geforce3 ti 200 video card on my new K7S5A MB in Unreal Tournament. I use UT for my benchmark. When I go to 32-bit colors at any resolution i'm only getting about 10-20 FPS. Here's what my system is: Athlon 1.4-C, ECS K7S5A mb, 256 pc2100 DDR mem, 20gb Maxtor 7200 RPM drive, AC97' sound, 4x DVD player, and win2000. I just can't seem what to think except that it's the motherboard. I've put the same card into a p3 700, 8.4gb 5400rpm drive, with 256mb pc100 mem, and the damn thing runs pretty good (1024x768 50-65 FPS@32-bit color). I had a Radeon 64mb DDR card in my Athlon system before this and I was running about 80-90 FPS @ 32 bit color. I've loaded the latest drivers for the game and the video card, and still nothing. Has anyone had any issues with this video card/MB match? I love the motherboard, and I don't want to get rid of it but I can't live with it if I have to run my games at 16 bit color. Is there any little setting I might have missed?

Thanks for any suggestions!! :)

hi there,

are you only having these problems when in 32bit color in UT? Does 16 bit run just fine for you?

you mentioned that you have loaded all of the latest drivers for the game and your video card, but i am wondering if you have loaded up all the drivers for you ECS motherboard. Also, are you sure that you have V-Sync off? A good program to help you out would be NvReffix which would help with the refresh rate problem that nVidia cards have in Win2000 and XP.

I hope this helps and pertinent and useful to your situation.... good luck :)

Have you installed the latest AGP drivers from ECS? If not it will seriously affect the performance of your AGP video card.

I have not loaded the latest drivers for the MB yet. Will the latest bios updates have the AGP drivers I need or is that a different set of drivers? Oh, the 16-bit performance isn't very good either but it's at leat playable. Thanks for the tips guys! I'll give em' a try!
