poor memory scores on a k8v deluxe

i get a very poor memory benchmark of 2178 in sandra 2004. my config :

a64 3000+
asus k8v se deluxe
2*256 mb ddr 333 ram 2.5-3-3-6
bios ver 1003

although the memory doesnt run in dual channel mode, 2178 is a very low score if i am correct. so what could be the reason??

That's some slow memory.

That score looks like your running it at 2700/333 speeds? Sounds like you need bump it up to 200fsb if it will make it.

Sell your ram and add 10 bucks and get PC3200 or something.
1. Sell first 256MB stick and get a PC3200
2. Use first PC3200 stick.
3. Sell second 256MB Stick

no i dont have any progs running.

^^ so will there be a performance boost if i use ddr 400 ram? cause ive seen ppl get scores arnd 3000 with the same mobo

So what are you running your memory at 2700/166fsb or 3200/200 right now?

The problem is, if you are running 333MHz memory in a board designed for 400MHz, you are running your RAM way to slow, thats why you are getting bad scores.

Even though it's DDR333 I doubt it would be that low.
