My friend knows this family.

I can't believe parents would be stupid enough to buy their 16 YO kid a new sports car and not take away his keys after getting multiple speeding tickets. My friend says this kid had a slew of speeding tickets, some up to 85mph.

this happens too often. and that is an integra. but who cares. If he had alot of tickets already His family should get a good lawyer as they will be fighting some wrongful death suitsvery soon desevedly.

:( That is very unfortunate. It's true what the one kid said though, if you give teenagers sports cars, they are going to speed.

BTW, I think that is an Integra, not an RSX, but who cares? :(

Sad news.:(

Slow down, young drivers. You're just not good drivers yet. It takes years of practice.

Just before clicking that link I was going to say "well he'll kill himself", and I guess he did. Parents who buy their teenage boys a sports car are acting irresponsibly. Why is it that parents think that their kid is mature enough to handle it? Honestly I have met far more 16-19 year old males who drive like idiots than otherwise. And those who are reasonably drivers turn into maniacs behind the wheel of a fast car. Unfortunately myself and a couple of friends had fast cars and we are god damned lucky we're still alive and never got anything more than a speeding ticket or minor accident.

Kids + fast cars DO NOT mix.

Poor RSX (actually Integra Type-R)?? Screw Integra, I'm looking at the Celica GTS (sweet ride:()

Damn shame that these kinds only have one thing to prove...how fast they can kill themselves for the sake of "fun"

it's definitely not an RSX.. but either way you hear of this stuff happening all too often.. kids will be kids... thta's why younger people have higher insurance.. more likely to get into an accident on bad terms (racing)

just last night i got into about 3 races which is way more than usual, it's usually not very often i end up in a race.. but at least i try to be somewhat responsible about it, and i don't rip it when other people are around, nor do i push too hard..

poor kids.. :(

do you know how stupid that sounds after reading that article? I think you need to think before you type. and I hope you never "RACE" <-Lame IMO with other people in the car. If so other than being Lame you are anything but responsible.

yup, many times i've seen an old integra wrecked on the side of the road.. probably with some young kid as the driver. There probably should be a law against giving kids fast cars:p i had a cruddy very old camaro v6 in hs, but it sounded like it was dying above 85mph. i sped recklessly at times, but it was always a calculated risk, drive fast on freeway straights in the fast lane, not on residential streets or places with cross roads, thats just stupid. sad as it is i don't have much sympathy for this level of stupidity.

btw those rims look salvagable:p

yah i know it sounds stupid.. but hey i try to not race or act like a fool during rush hour.

it was 2AM last night and there was no one else around... in my opinion if there is a good time to do it, it's then... right?

i am a car finatic, i love cars, i like racing my car when i can, it's fun.. some people just think it's stupid.. that's them though.. whatever!!!

think i'll respond to that while i'm at it...

maybe you should practice this too? you don't know me.. i think it's fun racing.. if you don't like it.. i didn't ask you to approve!

i am a responsible person... i think before i act.. to speculate i am lame and irresponsible is just uncool on your part.

I'm more into 0-60 type of races...I cut off at speed limit...I don't care if its 35mph or 65mph...I brake and slow down

Not into high speed racing...

Well if you did read it I merely want to point out that you said some people just think it's stupid.. that's them though.. whatever!!! as if it's open to debate and opinion, but in this case several kids died. Kids die all the time from racing, so it's not really a "you think this, I think otherwise so let it rest" situation because it IS stupid. People die, and not just those racing but other's as well.

i am a responsible person... i think before i act.. to speculate i am lame and irresponsible is just uncool on your part But you got in three races last night. I don't want to sound aggressive but there are some contradictions here :)

There is NO good time to street race - there are always pedestrians, dog-walkers, and other people on the road.

<< some people just think it's stupid.. that's them though.. whatever!!! >>

No, some of us think it is dangerous - not that I care if you endanger your own life, but you endanger mine and everyone else's on the road. Read the article - those people in the van that the idiots hit had no "choice" in the matter.
No one is on the road at 2am? So when my wife goes into labour at 2am and I have to drive her in to the hospital, I guess I just have to accept the risks that I'm entering your "racing turf" and if you plow into me at 85mph its my own fault?

News flash, "l337 mAd RaCeR dUdE", your right to have "fun" ends where my right to live begins.

me too pretty much. nothing 100+ km/h normally.. unless it's secondary highway...

the most exilerating thing that one can experience is a race between 2 fast cars.. LOVE IT!

it sucks that these kids had to die in their fun.. :( but it doesn't make racing sh1t!

Racing is good in controlled conditions on a track. Hell I'll admit I'd still do a drag race with somebody at the lights (and never much above the speed limit), but I stopped "street racing" when I was younger. By this i Mean swerving around corners, chasing people, etc.

point taken.. but in the city people only drag down like a block or something.. 85 mph?? not a chance.. more like 50-60 topps

it's not that big of a deal.. people always slow right back down to the limit when the drag to the next lights is over.. i look around when no one is there and still don't get why people think it's such a big deal.. maybe because they don't know what's running thru the racers' heads.. but i personally don't think it's a threat to people when done at the right time in the right way... come on now .....
