Poor headphones...

I did this just today... I think it's from pulling too hard on the cord. I was trying to reach for something with them being held on the other end... Anyway... Anyone know how I could probably get a new wire/repair? I have seen these things modified by people and they put on a new wire and all kinds of stuff... 🙁

The wires are still intact aren't they? I'd probably just use some electrical tape to fix the sheath, but I'm cheap, so.. 🙂

I didn't see it there. Under HD555, cables, part number 510somethingsomethingsomething it didn't show a picture or anything. I don't know what it is.

yeah unfortunately the hd555 cables are not detachable...

Go to an electronics/hobby store and buy a short length of the narrowest heat shrink tubing that'll fit over the plug and over the broken strain relief. Looks like you'll need less than an inch, but you won't find any pieces as short as that. Slide it over and evenly heat the tubing with a lighter until it shrinks all the way.

Or, pretend that that's too hard to do and just use electrical tape.

Take it apart, cut it, splice it properly. Or take it to a repair shop.

meh just got a used one off ebay for $15 shipped.
I went to radioshack for parts and it came out to be around $10.

Use string to physically attach the top to the bottom, then electric tape to cover the whole thing. It'll last as long as a new cord.
