I have a NEC 12x DVD ROM, and I'm using the software that came with it, called InterVideo DVD or something like that. I have AMD Athlon 1.2 on ASUS A7V133 with 256MB. Using an old Voodoo3 2000 PCI for now. When i play a DVD, it's a little jumpy and the audio sometimes crackles.
Please tell me what could be the cause(s) of this.
If this is caused by bad software, can someone recommend a good player?

sounds like you don't have DMA enabled... could be the VooDoo3 though. In my DVD box I use the Hollywood Plus decoder card... which can be had for $40
