I remember the days of "two night rentals on new releases," and "three day rentals". If you were even one hour late they charged you the full rental price as a late fee, every subsequent day late was another late fee.

Their late fee policy in the early 90's was nothing short of robbery. They applied the same polices to video game rentals, which was utterly ridiculous. Don't forget that "No late fee" BS back in 2004, if you were late enough you ended up owning the movie.

When netflix popped up I jumped ship and never looked back

Blockbuster can DIAF

same.

the "no late fee's" bs was crap. you have it late they charge you the price fo the movie/game and if you returned it you still had a $3-5 restocking fee.

but what did it for me was when blockbuster online changed how they worked. used to be i could drop a movie back in store and get a move that day and have the next in que sent. they ended that so i went back to netflix.

Haven't been INTO a video store in years.

First was Netflix, then Blockbuster on-line, then RedBox.

I like paying $1.00 to rent a movie...and reserve one from the convenience of my own PC...and not have to deal with the dumb shits who work behind the counter.

All hail our new overlords the REDBOXES!!!!

Im afraid its all about raw capitalism now and automated machines will be used to cut costs and deliver value. My question is - how do unemployed people rent videos?

But I do agree this is probably the future.

if they can't keep up they go away... I thought that was capitolism

OH WAIT, WE SHOULD BAIL BLOCKBUSTER OUT SOMEONE CALL OBAMA
