So anyone play pool in here, a lot? :) Me and my friends go like 5-7 times a week. I hardly ever played pool before, but since the beginning of summer I haven't stopped. It's such a great game, I wish I had pool table in my house. Anyone got one for sale? :)

So, is anyone in here a pool shark, if so, how much money you hustlin? ;)

I wish I could sell my table. But it's too expensive, and worse - if I sold it, I'd have to let my wife buy furniture for what is now the billiard room. *gasp*

I never have been a shark, but "in my prime" I could run a table now and then. I've been playing a little lately, and feel my game coming back.

I could never be a hustler...bad combination of a guilty conscience, and a propensity to CHOKE when money's on the table.

No need to feel guilt, I do not plant ideas in the heads of people that I might be a lousy pool player, a sucker they can take for a ride. For some reason, people just automatically assume that I know jack-all about pool. Even those that have heard the rule about "Never play a person that brings their own cue, especially if it breaks down into multiple parts." :D

The cheapest that I found that would look good in the house was about $1800. You can definately get them cheaper, but I at least wanted something that looked sturdy and well-made. I didn't get any frills (like a lot of artwork or decorative curves in the wood), but I did want something with 4 solid legs and a quality look to it.

If you like pool that much. get a decent table... if you get the cheapest table on the market, they're subject to warping and stuff like that. For pool, you want the table to be as well balanced as possible... You'll eventually get VERY annoyed when the balls keep rolling to one side.

So either get a good one, or wait until you can afford a good one. Don't settle with some cheap one from wal-mart... Unless you're feeling VERY lucky.
