If I don't wear my hat, then my hair goes crazy. So... is there something that can make it less poofy, but not hard?

Hah! Me too! I wear a hat everywhere. I am naked without it. But funny you should ask, I just got home from a formal dinner for the corporation I work for, and I had bought some Got 2b hairspray at CVS. My hair has stayed in perfect position for over 5 hours.

Yeah I used to use it, but it didn't help much. Now I use a shampoo and conditioner in one bottle. Doesn't mousse (sp?) make your hair stiff? I don't want that to happen...

Conditioner and frequent brushing.

I've let my hair grow out quite a bit this year. It's probably the longest I've had it. The annoying thing is I have to brush it so much or it gets very disobedient. I've gained a new respect for girls and their hair. A lot of work HAS to go into that, and we take it for granted.

use a really light about of hair gel... not so much that it turns your hair into a helmet, but enough to tighten it up a bit.

if you don't use gel, I'd recommend against washing it every day... back when I had long hair, I only washed it every other day. helped keep it from getting super dry/frizzy.

Ok hang on... I wore my hat all day and I've been combing my hair for about 5 minutes after reading mobobuff's post, so it's not going to look too wild, but you'll see.
EDIT: Actually, no pics, I like to be anonymous :)

pomade.

Use a little with a touch water and you can get it to do pretty much whatever you want. Makes your hair look practically bare but will leave a little residue so once you wash your hands don't play with it much.

It also doesn't harden so won't have that gel look.

I have very thick hair. In the summer, it gets incredibly poofy. I have to keep it short and neat if I want it to look nice.

I'm a dapper dan man!

Oh, just use a bit of gel. My hair will get all frizzy no matter what I do (anti-frizz stuff doesn't work either), so gel is one of my options and the one that I took.
