Pontius? Lexiac?

It's odd and not my cup of tea, but i have to give the man credit, that takes a lot of work. If it were me, I'd have taken the parts from a GS400/430 instead. A muscle car with a I6 underhood is just odd to me.

Also in the GS300 trim, the 225hp 2JZ-GE I6 felt underpowered, i'd suspect the same in this application.

I meant to add that this is worse than Fast & Furious 4 where they put the Nissan VQ into a 60's Mustang...

Crazy swaps make me sad 🙁

I must say the best swap like that I've ever seen was when someone put an 04-06 GTO interior into a 60's (or was it 70's?) Firebird. That look HAWT.

too bad it isn't the japanese version of the gs300/aristo. that would have had the 2jz-gte twin turbo. interesting swap...

I can understand changing the interior, but the engine swap makes no sense. If he's going to modernize the engine, it should be something like a LS2. Or take the opposite route and put that old body on a new GTO.

I think he just took a Lexus and put the GTO panels and body on it...badly. Very badly.

No, he used to drive the GTO when it was still a GTO with a 350 in it. It was originally yellow. It was in his yard for many years after he stopped driving it.

He took the Lexus engine/trans/interior and put them in the GTO.

Badly.

He has used our shop equipment to fab some parts for this thing.

The piece wrapping around the front end under the GTO grille is from a farly recent model grand prix. It has the more modern Pontiac "kidneys" grille under the GTO grille...

Yeah, of that there is zero doubt.
