the guys over there were kind enough to run a GM VIS report for me. it came back looking relatively clean. i take it that's a good thing?

NEVER EVER TRUST 'REPORTS'

get it inspected. I have looked at clean carfax/dealer/insurance records and the actual vehicle was a mess and they have sometimes had tons of bodywork and worse unibody/frame damage.
