2005 Mustang GT, 300hp for under 26K baby. 😀

Ford just ran out of ideas. I saw an '05 V6 the other day. Some blonde driving it thinking she was hot sh!t with a V6 and an auto. Anyway, the fuggin' wheels are the same as they were in the 60's. Sheesh. This retro thing has gone way too far.

On a related note, I've been really bothered that the roofs on late model mustangs looks like afterthoughts (hardtop). There's a huge gap where the c-pillar meets the quarter panel that makes it look like a hardtop on a convertible.

This coming from a guy with two factory ricemobiles in his signature 😛

You're lucky my sarcasm meter is working😉😛 Now if you tell me you'd rather have a V6 '05 Mustang rather then either of the two cars in my sig you're nuts and you of all ppl know that!

I'd rather have a Scion tC or Mazda 3s than any one of those buggers.

Civic Type-R = 200 hp
Integra Type-R = 220+ hp

Either will smoke a 3 or a tC handily.

I'd take a WRX over either, and a Mustang GT is the only car in the price range that would make me think twice about the Subaru.

"There was a lot of bad press about it not looking like the old GTOs of the 1960s and '70s, but that's not what it was supposed to be about..."

Sure didn't stop them from slapping the GTO name on the damn thing, did it? :|

Did the mid 90's Impala SS look anything like the ones from the 60's? Its not fair to say they should look the same but the styling is just too bland.

At least the Impala looked all American, which was in keeping with the original. Pontiac did a GREAT disservice to the GTO name with that Jap clone looking POS. At least it's got a proper drive train and performance, but they should have called it something else.

To me the GTO looks like a early 90's Pontiac; doesn't say a whole lot. Hell, a friggin' Monte Carlo has more classic lines.

Pontiac could do a retro GTO with that drivetrain and really make a killing. Too bad they don't abandon the Grand Am styling and do something similar to what Ford did with the '05 Mustang.

Saw a white V6 today... with matching badass driver too. 😱

So far I havent seen a V8 one outside the dealer lot. 😕

Dammit - I want to trade in my Mazda6 for the new 2005 GTO AS LONG AS I can get it looking like the SEMA Ram Air 6 Concept vehicle. Then I wanted to send it out to be supercharged to about 550 horsies.... This better happen, I'm planning on it.

Mmmmmm.... Orange goodnes...

I don't dig the Orange GTO. I perfer to have it the way it is.

I believe the GTO will sell well as a 2005 model. As I said earlier, GM made it clear, extremely early into initial sales, that the 2005 would just be a better car. I would assume that mostly everyone who wanted one has waited for this "better car".

Just my opinion.

EDIT: Fixed a grammar issue.

I definitely wouldn't mind having a GTO at all...But I'm probably at least ten years away from the point of having enough cash to throw away on a new car to worry about it. 😛

In a couple years, the last Cavalier coupe will break down and be forgotten, and GTO's appeal will rise again. I think it's a great car and an unbeatable value.
They need to do a little bit of work to spice up the side profile. BMW style door handles and chrome around the windows would be a good start.

The price of 04's are going to go down even more. Higher HP ratings for '05, good luck getting rid of the '04's. Resale value's going to drop for 04's as well. Same idea with the '01-'02 Z06.
