Pontiac cuts output for limping GTO, looks to future

As it turned out, the 2004 GTO is quite a performance bargain.

Besides the bland styling, I think the fact that the 2005 version is going to have significantly more performance is a factor in poor sales of the 2004 model.

If the 2005 sells for close to what the 2004s actually sold for, $26-27k I think, I think there will be plenty of demand, even with the styling. The styling isn't any worse than other companies' 4 door performance cars, it just doesn't have any of the classic lines of the old Goats.

You know it.

I would hit one up... 2004 or 2005.

The thing about these sales is that GM said the 2005 would be a better car than the 2004. Knowing that, would you still purchase the car or wait a year for the better one? I have a feeling alot of those people passed on the 2004 waiting for the 2005.

Ford just ran out of ideas. I saw an '05 V6 the other day. Some blonde driving it thinking she was hot sh!t with a V6 and an auto. Anyway, the fuggin' wheels are the same as they were in the 60's. Sheesh. This retro thing has gone way too far.

On a related note, I've been really bothered that the roofs on late model mustangs looks like afterthoughts (hardtop). There's a huge gap where the c-pillar meets the quarter panel that makes it look like a hardtop on a convertible.

I'd rather have a Scion tC or Mazda 3s than any one of those buggers.

I'm a Honda fanboi and I agree with that statement. 😛 The Civic SI is a joke as is the Type-S. Even if Honda brought it over as the Si or the Type-R, I'd still take the tC or the 3.

Civic Type-R = 200 hp
Integra Type-R = 220+ hp

Either will smoke a 3 or a tC handily.

I didn't bother to click on the links. I just read the names. Regardless, we don't get those cars here so no need to whack to them b/c you'll never see it here.

I'd take the Mustang, V6 even, over those POS's. They're FWD theft magnets with no torque and ugly curves that only appeal to hairy palmed taco bell slaving rice mongrels. And I drive a Japanese car. 😀
