You tellin me this looks good?! It looks like a fvcking toy box with wheels.

I agree. Those things make the Aztec look good.
You've got to be kidding me..

I mean, there's getting the point across that you don't like the looks of something.. and then there's saying the Aztek looks better.

Don't cross that line man.. that's just going too far.. lol

Oh thank all the gods. I have to drive an Aztek for work. I've put nearly 30,000 miles on it since February when we got new ones. They "refresh" the fleet every couple of years I guess, so maybe by the end of next year I'll get something else. Maybe if I hit 60,000 miles sooner I'll get one then.

They are repulsive. You cannot see out of them no matter what direction you face (the A pillar blocks out any view of oncoming cars when you take a turn, the "spoiler" really does spoil the view, and the gigantic C pillar is just astounding). I've found that they are horrid in the snow, the back end just flies out like mad, even at all of 8 miles an hour, with the cargo space loaded up with a few hundred pounds of computer parts. The tires can't get a grip even with a light rain.

The engine is anemic in the extreme considering what an SUV is supposed to be for. My car has more horsepower and I always thought it was a little lower than I'd like. The transmission at least isn't the worst part, though it is worse than many other automatics I've used.

It's loud, and they should have done something about that when they decided the radio needed sensors that increased the volume automatically based on cabin noise.

The ride isn't too bad, although with the amount of driving I do, the seats are killing my back, and somehow are designed so that a seatrest can't even be positioned properly to support me.

And one of the oddest issues: the seatbelts are too short. I can't lean over far enough to reach something on the passenger floorboard. I can't imagine being a larger person, they must be strangled when they reach for the radio.

They sold well to companies like mine too. Several hundred at the very least were bought at the beginning of the year. They didn't even have them available, we had to wait until they were in stock and shipped to the dealers. Of course they seem to have had to special order them as cheap as possible. The original fleet of them had the console cooler and antilock brakes, but this batch had both those items removed.

They got rid of all those things but had alarm systems installed, and we got remote keyfobs which we didn't have on the last batch.

Not surprisingly, we've just gotten a notice about the number of accidents this year having gone up.

YAY, AZTEC IS GONE

it looks like they were building it and ran out of materials and thus, made the back of it FUGLY

Yes the aztek looks like a piece of crap.

But after driving my friend's around for a week my opinion on the exterior doesn't matter to me. It's actually not a bad ride if you get the intended usage out of it. We went camping one weekend and it was actually decent to have a freaking table in the car. It had plenty of space for all of our gear and 4 people (somehow.) and it was pretty comfortable.

That being said, it's far from being any sort of camping essential and the slight appreciation I have for it do not justify trying to make this car one of pontiac's big sellers. It's really stupid to have for an everyday driver as it doesn't fit any more people than a nice sedan or compact and the gas mileage is obvious if you look at the shape and size of it. I don't think that any more than a couple thousand people could get the same usage as I had from it on a regular basis. Verdict: See ya later. Enough already exist in the world to suffice 😉

hell i rather own an aztek, an element, or an xB over an SSR... it's impractical, unreliable, uneconomical, not to mention i'd look like a retarded guy with a mid-life crisis, while going as fast as a minivan...

But Pontiac dealers will not be wearing black armbands; they are clearing space for the Aztek's replacement, the Torrent, a utility wagon with less chance of becoming a punchline

I wonder if it will be a bit torrnet?
