Years ago when I ripped my 300 CD's to my computer I thought I would be mr uber cool open source supporter and did them all in OGG. This was before portable players or really anything outside of a PC played any sort of digital music. Now I'm basically stuck with thousands of OGG files, there are devices that play them but they seem few and far in between.
Googling I read a few blogs that claim somebody somewhere is working on OGG support for the Zune but has no information about when. I'm definitely not reading anything concrete just that it might be in the works, and might or might not actually come out.
I'm not really excited about converting my OGG files to something the Zune can play, would be easy but don't want to fuck up the quality. I could re-rip some of them, but a lot of my CD's were lost when I moved. Basically I have close to 4000 ogg files and I don't know what to do. I can get a Zune or the Sandisk 8 gig, neither have native OGG support.
anyone know anything about Zune's future 3rd party codec support?
