Polyphasic Sleep

This looks very interesting to me. I'd like to spread my workload throughout a 24-hour period rather than a 4 to 6-hour period.

Only problem is that I would have to be awake and alert from the hours of 6;30 AM or so until 2;30 AM or so. I

Anyone think it'd work? And what would happen if I put a nap on debt and turned a 45-minute into a 90-minute nap to make up for it?

I'm seriously considering starting this out next week, so reply seriously with thoughts etc.

Really? How many hrs and how often do you need to sleep? From what I've read it seems very impractical.

A good night's sleep of 8 hours is a waste of four hours. 😛

I have a very unusual lifestyle and it's impractical to sleep 1/3 of the day away.

I'm trying to wonder if I could pull three hours at 3pm - 6pm then again at 3am - 6pm.

Rather frustrating, as I don't know what type of a total I should end up with.

One hour at 3pm, 9pm, 3am? Two? ahh...
I can't fit in a nap period between 6am - 3pm, so I don't know how to handle something like this, but I'd really like to find some time to squeeze into the post-midnight time.

I suppose that's the big problem here...I'm fairly convinced it's technically possible to do, but the vast majority of us have outside factors controlling our schedules rather than such drastic limits on our overall awake asleep. For most people, they can control the NUMBER of hours awake fairly easially, but not always when those hours occur.

Someone tried it on UK TV as part of a test.
It didn't work at all.

And because he was a TV personality, he managed to do it pretty much perfectly, schedule wise, as he had a professional sleep expert helping him, and was also tested on reactions etc, and had his sleep patterns monitored.
It was only for a week, but at the end of it, not good.

Although it would be nice to have more awake hours during the day, the rigid schedule of naps sounds like a pain in the butt. I don't see how that could work at all for 8-5am job folks. I don't think my boss would be cool with me napping twice during the day. "Umm yea, I know Windows keeps crashing on you, but I'm like 10 minutes late for my 2pm nap and I really need to get on that, so can I call you back?"

One can tell by my post times it's fairly obvious.

Sheesh, no wonder people think I'm a bot.

Would this work? 🙂

Three hour nap at 3pm - 6pm
Three hour nap at 3am - 6am.

I'd do the first then 12-6am but after looking around, it might be better to have an exact 12 hours in between each begining of naps...?

Actually, I'd probably rule out 12-6am + the 3hr nap anyway, because I need more time, which is why I'd consider doing something like this in the first place.
