I haven't heard any real popular music that I like. Popular music is pretty much defined by what is on MTV and what Carson Daly's cronies vote for on TRL. It sucks to say the least.

Give me dave matthews, david bowie, crystal method (it's relaxing yet stimulating!), BEASTIE BOYS, REM, but NOT popular music! Yes, they are all popular, but not main stream on MTV now. I was one of the earlier Dave Matthews fans, I started liking DMB in 3rd grade (7-8 years ago) when my sister got some of his music.

I think they are great...for teens and pre-teens. I personally do not care for them. They will go out as quickly as they came in, just like New Kids On The Block.

The New Kids weren't exactly one-hit-wonders. They had like 5 albums or so. And they defined the modern boyband. They may not be popular now, but that's not because they aren't good anymore, it's because of the way pop is, new stuff comes out alot faster than the other genres, except maybe rap. And BSB has had 4 albums, including their first album that was only released in Europe, and they are still growing in popularity. I don't expect them to be breaking up anytime soon.

OK - I will actually always have some respect for N'sync for one reason. Everytime their "Bye Bye Bye" or "Its Gonna be Me" songs come on the radio, my 16 month old daughter begins dancing and smiling and gets so happy, I can't help but find that is brightens up my day. So for her sake, I actually thank them if I met them.

The Osmonds were wildly popular too!!!!

I don't think their music stands up now. Neither will the Pop bands of today.

Well, they're a fad, nomatter how many albums they release... to this day you still hear people listening to The Doors, Beatles, Eagles, Bon Jovi, etc, but all these boybandss lose their audience the moment they leave the pubescent age and come to realize how shallow the songs really are. Baby baby may sound good on a song or two, but after song after song after song, you soon realize that's not so special anymore.

I don't really respect them since I think the music gets tiresome like all MTV/club pop, but I do give a little for BS boys still being around for example....and hey, if people like listening to boy bands, so be it, cool enough for them, I just don't generally like them

No, you got it all wrong, we don't like the boybands themselves, we like the music. Thats why i voted they're ok.

I think I'm almost hiphop now, I could'nt stand listening to my pop, soft winamp list last night before i went to sleep (whihc i do everynight till last night!)

Umm....I don't hear alot of people listening to those except for Bon Jovi, his new single's not bad. But the first three....that's old stuff dude. That stuff is played on the radio for like my parents to listen to, cause that's what they listened to when they were kids. I bet when I'm 30 or 40, there will be a radio station that plays like BSB and New Kids and whatnot.
