List. I have no need to see the stuff given in Details, so List is the most efficient for me. Thumbnails for pics tho

edit: but ZV has a good point.

details, i like to change how things are sorted a lot.

and anyone who maximizes anything(except games and photoshop and similar stuff) with a resolution of more than 1280x960 shouldn't be using a computer  :p

details ... otherwise it pisses me off.

Also, i need the file extensions, If the extensions are hidden for known file types it infuriates me.
Also, I need to display the full path in the address bar.
Also, the status bar MUST be on 100% of the time.

Anyone who doesn't maximize shouldn't be using a computer.
I mean why would you want to only work with part of the screen that you paid good money for.

EDIT: Using any other view is almost as bad as hiding known file extensions.

the only problem with having file extensions showing is that when you rename, you have to select to the left of the period, which can get annoying if you are renaming lots of files (mp3s come to mind)

I always use details, but thumbnail on my image folders.

Haha. :)

My computer can multi-task pretty well. I cannot. I can task-switch quite easily, but I don't do well if I'm trying to do more than one thing at a time so I just maximise every window and switch between them using the taskbar.

Details.

That's mainly because I'm consistently sorting by either size or date. If I ever stop needing to do that, I would switch to list so I can see more files. When I look at any directory with graphics, then I switch to thumbnails.
