wife beaters are tanktops.

cuz usually people that beat up their wife or girlfriend usually is wearing a tanktop at the same time

WTF have i been??

i've never heard that term before.

why not use a less derogatory term like tank tops then? you have to be ignorant to use such a term, but i guess misspelling "wear" twice has already gone a long ways to proving that.

I think it is ignorant to assume that everyone who uses the term is ignorant. 😛

I think it is funny and everyone knows what I'm talking about, so it all works out fine.

Joking about "wife beating" even tho it's nothing more than a really really stupid generalization is funny to you and your friends?

Joking about rednecks even though it is nothing more than a really really stupid generalization is quite funny to my friends and I.

sorry it was a misspelling, i DO know the difference between "were" and "where", guess i was typing too damn fast. i mean i am 80 wpm.
not knowing the term wife beaters, and thinking its a derogatory statement proves you are uneducated in social terms and graces

Wife beaters and tanktops are quite different tho.
Wife beaters are the type that stick to your body and tank tops are the type that is loosely fit.

What's wrong with calling them wife beaters ? I think it got it's name because of the people that beat their wife wore it when it happened.

HAHAHAHA

for a guy that STILL can't spell "WEAR" you have real nerve talking about OTHER people being uneducated.

Let me educate you.

Your title SHOULD have been "you guys WEAR wife beaters?" NOT "you guys where wife beaters?"

btw, SOCIAL GRACES?? hahahaha, knowing the term "wife beaters" determines how educated one is on SOCIAL GRACES??

Call me an arrogant prick, but the very term "wife beater" implies something about the class and sophistication of the wearer. And not that i'd wear them in public anyway (because theyre ugly and look like crap), but it's actually illegal for me to wear them in public. It's not considered "appropriate civilian attire."

Even when i go to the gym, i wear a tshirt or tank top. Contrary to popular belief, a tanktop is NOT a wife beater. That's like saying a woman's bikini or one-piece is the same as lingerie. Yeah, they might cover the same areas of the body, but so does a helmet and a dunce cap.

Obviously that is not an expression which is used by everybody. How old are you?

Lighten up a bit CPL I know anything but a brown undershirt throws lyou for a loop.

A wifebeater is a very specific type of top. It has to be white and cheap. It looks like a Hanes T-Shirt without the sleeves.

It got its name probably because of shows like cops, where everytime the cop arrives at a domestic violence dispute, the guy is wearing his wifebeater with beer stains and stumbling around the front yard.

usually no but i go out to pick up a few grocieries in them if im to lazy to find a tshirt.

I wear them all the time at home.

i am amazed at all the people who dont know what wife beaters are (or for short... "beaters")

how can you not know what a beater is?

and as for the original question, the only time i am seen wearing a beater in public is about 10:00pm after i work when i leave the restaurant and head out to my car.

You and XZeroII should get together and see if you can jam the sticks up your asses any further. Wearing a certain article of clothing does not imply anything about your class or social status.

dang, hahahahah..i must have been high or drunk or something to first correct "were" with "where", then finally with "wear". seriously, i know the difference. 😀

oh man that was funny. sorry i don't think i could change the "were" in the poll, just the title.

anyways, why do people get their panties in a bunch over a little misspelling.
