Long story short, I'm graduating from college in May 2005 and my lease ends in July so I figured I'd move into a metro-area where I can do better job-hunting. I got friends in all candidate cities so I'll have the chance to experience them firsthand but here's a poll to get your opinion. Please explain why you voted for that city, what you like/dislike about it... etc.

Edit: Thanks everyone for voting. I forgot to mention my major, I'm graduating with double majors in Finance and Business Administration. I don't want to limit myself to Finance Industry, I'm open to anything but I guess my degree could help me with some fields like Banking, Insurance, etc. I just listed those places without any specific reason but feel free to recommend others. Texas and similar is out of question as I'm a democrat 🙂 Thanks!
 
where is the find job first and move there option

if you are limiting yourself to one city you will have a much harder time
 
Chicago. Good social scene, Cubs, lots of jobs (CDW, IBM, etc...), Cubs, good transit system, Cubs...

It gets COLD in the winter, though. Other than that, its a great place to live.
 
lol @ the poll... Somehow I don't think it's going to help you very much. 😉

I think you should take much of what is said in here with a grain of salt, and do your own research.....

That said, I voted for Seattle. 😉

Seriously though, I do want to move there. Just have no clue how I'm going to go about doing it. I can't speak Catonese (other than the lady on the subway would say Shanghai Cowgun Taibo which translated to Please stand back from the doors) and I'm a junior in college and am about to change my major and I'm broke.

Even job wise? I had no problem while I was visiting there for a month, but I also wasn't employed somewhere either.

well obviously if you work for a mainland company that speaks cantonese you're out of luck. if you work for an american company you'll be ok
