Picked it up last night. Im very happy with it.

went to a Toyota Dealership and test drove a Camry XLE V6. Very nice car, fully loaded, leather... I loved the way it drove. The Sticker price was 28,400. I managed to negoitate them down to 24,000.

then the matching 1,000 down they were offering.

Was I fool to pass this up?

** Edit. it was a 2004 3.0 XLE (leather, moonroof, cd.cassette/6 JBL speakers, climate control, power driver & passenger, Heated seats) very nice in my opinion.

Kelly Blue book list it as
23,125.00 Invoice
25,920.00 Retail
24,050.00 New Car Blue Book (Average sale price i think)

KBB.com listing.

**UPDATE: The dealer called me this morning and asked if a flat 23K would get me to buy the car. I told him i would think about it. I called my wife and talked to her about it and we both agree that for a new 2004 loaded XLE for 23k is a good deal.

So i called the dealer back and im going to get it tomorrow.

This one had a sticker on the window that said it was assemebled in N. Carolina.

Well the one's in NY are made in Japan (dealership 10 blocks down the road from me)

Was it the new 3.3 V6 or regular 3.0? (leather, moonroof, cd.cassette/6 speaker?) What was it?

No, it was not that sweet of a deal.

What year are we talking? 2004 or 2005?

24K sounds pretty good. Tough call. Never a bad deal to walk away. It is the end of the month, so, you'll probably get a phone call tomorrow asking you to come back in, just a hunch.

Thats a pretty good deal. Not spectacular by any means, but definitely a good deal. A lot of people just hate Camry's so theres a lot of no votes.

THe speaker system in the Camry is awesome. JBL and has plenty of umph for stock.

Did you check Edmunds or Kelly for some idea of invoice cost? IMHO, you passed up a deal. The Camry loaded like that is about the same as an Avalon with leather and they go well north of 30,000. But, if he would sell it for that today, he will tomorrow too.

$23k out the door for a loaded brand new 2004 Camry XLE is a great deal.

Good job and enjoy the new ride.

I would love to buy a Camry but they drive like a boat.

Not a spectacular deal, but you didn't get ripped off either. If you've been considering buying a Camry for a long time and you were just waiting for the right deal then awesome. If you were still cross shopping other cars (Accord, Passat, Altima, etc) and bought this car on impulse because you thought you were getting a stellar deal then you might not have made the right decision.
