Most of the games run off of 720p so if your using a CRT HDTV that sort of sucks as well (CRTS do not run 720p natively; they have to scale the image). To me the coolest thing about the 360 is not rlly the great graphics but the wireless controller and the new menu and media options it has. To me, I love that you can watch a DVD and still get a game invite on live.

A lot of people interviewed on TV seemed to have the opinion that there's nothing THAT impressive about it unless you have a HDTV, and even then, it's still not comparable to a quality PC.
I guess you're basically paying for a high resolution console. If you look at PGR2 at standard def, and PGR3 at standard def, I don't think you'll see any earth shattering differences. You'll have higher polygon counts in PGR3 but take a look at PGR2 and Forza... they don't appear to need many more polygons...
But hey... HDTV is the future and it's about time consoles catch up to PC's in terms of resolution. Out with the old, in with the new.

i agree, but i am just wondering if all the ebay raping was worth it. personally i haven't had a console since playstation original. there was just so much hype and those leaked videos that nobody knew if they were real or renders.
i am sure it will be cracked in less than a year so we will again have a cheap little pc to put linux on....
I've played my 360 on both an HDTV and a SDTV... You can DEFINITELY tell the difference between PGR2 and PGR3. And it's much more than polygon count. I mean, it's not even close. The graphic upgrade from Xbox to 360 is very substantial.Originally posted by: Jeff7181

It seems that many (most?) of the kiosks aren't set up correctly. Reports have it that the primary culprit is the subtle SDTV/HDTV switch on the component cables. Trust me, COD2 looks spectacular.Originally posted by: Matt2
I just played XBOX360 at Best Buy tonight running 720p on an LCD.
Not impressed.
It looks like 800x600... and the jaggies!!! You'd think that ATI/Microsoft would have made sure that XBOX360 ran games at 4xAA

i will admit that i know nothing about the xbox360, but aren't all the games supposed to support 1920x1080(1080i)?
Cool effect, but any sense of graphical polish gets taken away as soon as you notice there is no V-Sync!Originally posted by: SPARTAN VI
So far the graphics are amazing.. PDZ has this neat, fluid, motion blur thing going on. When you move/look around, it just feels so smooth. Along with parallax mapping, bump and normal maps, the game definitely keeps up with the likes of FEAR (except for the shadow effects and the neat pixel shaders FEAR uses).
