I'm already playing Moto GP in the Xbox Live Beta. It seriously blows the living crap out of anything the PS2 online has to offer. What will draw people to games like Unreal Championship and Ghost Recon is the fact that they won't have to have a $2000 machine to play it. The simple fact is that Live is going to bring online gaming to the masses in ways that the PS2 can't even think about. Its simply too puny of a system to handle it.
If you want to sit by yourself and play Kingdom Hearts or Suikoden III, have fun with it. Once the masses get a taste of Xbox Live, it will all be over. The only reason to own a PS2 at that point will be for GTA: Vice (which sucks IMO).
And as for the PS2 controller being superior... they are the cheapest pieces of crap I've used in a long time. I've broken 3 of them simply by hitting them on the floor once. All of my Xbox Controllers are tough as hell even if they get tossed across the room. And while we're on the subject of controllers, its nice to have a long cord for a change. I can sit all the way back on my couch and use my Xbox while I would have had to drag my PS2 half way across the room.
As for support, there will be over 50 Live titles by the end of next year. Xbox already is and will be King of Deathmatch. Until MS can pursuade more developers, RPGs will be rare among the Xbox list. Hopefully more developers will sign on.
