Given my pick of things to do, I'd like to find a cause I can both believe in and help in some major way.

I'd try to get a part time job or something very easy going. That or I'd just stay home and work on my projects to make extra money with them.

Even something like fixing computers at future shop or something could be a simple fun job. No SLAs or crazy IT managers. just fix pretty much at your own pace, format it if you want evne. Heck, if you actually do fix it that's a huge accomplishment on itself, the expectations are pretty low at places like that.

I would take 2-3 years off to see some of the world (if I had the $$) and improve my golf swing some. Then I would volunteer for habitat for humanity, I think it's a cool charity and for the most part makes better citizens of those who finally get their own home AND work on it's construction.Also a chance to get some carpentry skills, my last attempt at a bookcase was so bad my wife said it looked like someone gave Charlie Manson another hit of blotter acid and turned him loose in the wood shop..

Oh damn, so you'd work part-time at future shop even if you didn't need to, essentially it amounting to volunteer work? Get idiot customers who's kids put a burger in the disc drive and a dickweed manager who doesn't respect you?

Well, a. if you are completely loaded and feel like you need more money.... well, I am sorry but in my opinion you have a problem. If you are doing something that makes you a trivial amount of money compared to your current stash, then it's basically the same thing as volunteering. If you do not have to work but not necessarily because you have been infused with loads of $$$, then I can see why someone might still want to work.

I think like most, I'd take some time off, would probably so some soul searching since I'd now have the opportunity to find out what I really like doing versus doing what I have to in order to earn a pay check.

I mean don't get me wrong, I actually really do enjoy what I do now, but I'd not be some multi-millionaire and still doing it.

But I could see myself doing some sort of business, or something more creative that would/could lead to money down the road.

I would instead focus my efforts on my favorite hobbies: music, cooking, and computers. One could reasonably describe those efforts as "work," but I wouldn't be employed, per se.

I would also travel a lot.

I would not work for a short time, but I would then be very bored. The longest I've ever spent with no job is 1 month, and I was already starting to feel it there. However, no job + no money is different than no job + shit ton of money. If I didn't have to work but I could spend, then I would have a lot less boredom I'm sure. Not being bound to a job to pay for "cost of living" would probably breed much greater creativity.

I haven't worked in almost 6 years. I DID spend 2-1/2 years in school; that was fun as hell. If I didn't have to worry about money, I'd probably become a "professional student," sit in the front row and piss off all the youngsters by relating what the professor was talking about to my life, to things I've done, etc.

I'm a lazy fucker. I wouldn't do anything, at least not for a while. At some point I'd probably volunteer since I'd probably get bored or restless. I wouldn't put in many hours at a time though.

I have tons of ideas, tons of projects, tons of things I'd like to invent. If I didn't have to work I would probably spend 5-8 hours a day working on my ideas/projects.

The only thing holding me back is lack of time and money.
