POLL: Would you use genetics to have Perfect Children?

If you had the chance to go to a genetics scientist and pay them $$$$$$ to take you and your SO's sperm and egg and create a child with the best genes that you both have to create a more athletic, smart, beautiful child plus removing any genes that might cause defects, diseases or increased risks such as heart attacks or alcoholism. Would you do it? Would you try to tilt the scales so that your child can go through life with better advantages?

I think I would.

Sure, if it's to make them immune to all diseases and disorders. I wouldn't want them to be born with a 200+ IQ tho, I'd like them to learn and develop their brains on their own.

While I don't care so much about the "athletically gifted, tall, smart, beautiful" part, I would do it to ensure there are no health defects.

No, because if we do that, in time, perfection will ceas to exist.

There's no such thing as a perfect person anyways... If everyone did it there would be almost no diversity, like I said, BORING.

Like someone else said, if everyone was genetics manipulating their children i would feel obligated to do so in order to give my child a fair chance at everything. But if no one else is doing it then no

if its the best genes from the parents... i guess it would be ok
but start adding stuff that didnt come from the parents then no.

If they can find the gene that makes kids talk back to their parent or the gene that makes them piss and moan about their allowance or curfew, yes, most definitely.
