I realize that for the older folks this becomes less of a tempting offer, since you may only have 20 years left hehe.

Actually, that's a good point. Maybe I should have voted yes.

Not only that, I could live the rest of my life how I wanted to with $10 million rather than working my ass off to just retire comfortably.

Awesome. I was hoping to get the money/year ratio right so that I'd get a decent poll going and looks like I have. I said no. Now if I KNEW I was gonna live to 90 I'd change that answer.

Depends on a few factors, most inportantly which 10 years of your life.

The last 10 years, yes.
The first 10 years, maybe (lots of childhood memories here).
My current 10 years (at 22), probably not.

Also, if you're making more then $1 million a year, I'd defintely vote no.

Amen and holly-je-looya!

I've got a health problem that's pretty much going to leave me tied to a dialysis machine two days a week when I get older. Give me 10 cool mil right now at the age of 24 and I'm freaking set! I'll trade off 10 years of being tied to a machine, popping god knows how many meds, bad memory, bad hearing, and bad eyesight for have a glorious time till I hit that point.

Hell fscking yes. Pony that money up!

It depends on many factors. First, how would these 10 years come off? Would you just croak over one day, just like that? or would you develop some sort of disease? I suppose I probably wouldn't. It's a lot of money, but 10 million isn't all that much in the long run. If you live right and don't go nuts, you won't have to work ever again, but you wouldn't live a luxurious life. If I were getting older with children, I might sacrifice 10 years from my life so my children can have the $10 million, but at 20yrs old I can't make that kind of sacrifice yet.

Skoorb get's a big crack in the side of the head.

Hook me up! Whoever said that ten million isn't much money, can I have your ten million?

The thing is, you can actually pull this off, only for a lot more money. Just smoke a lot, join the club and sue the tobacco companies for, oh, fifty million or so (they'll give you any amount you ask for anyway) and then quit when you get the money. Shouldn't knock too much more than ten years off, I guess.

With my luck, I'd probably trade those 10 years just to find out that I only had 9 years, 364 days left to go!

Sure. I think with that 10 mil, I'll be able to buy another 20 years by the time I age. :)

But the question opens up for a lot of questions. What if you have less than 10 years left, what's the point of the money then?
