I found a 3 star in Montego Bay for $59 a night.

I have never been to Jamaica, but from my friends who go there, they tell me once you leave the resort area, it is a scary place. the locals will all come up and surround you trying to get you to buy little things you dont even want. my manager went there and left his resort for 2 minutes, and he told me that these guys basically 'made' him buy an ounce of weed. he doesnt smoke or anything. but he had no money, so he was like 'i will run to my hotel and get the money' and they were like 'okay but your fiance will wait here with us' and hes like 'hell no she is coming with me or we aren't buying anything'. by this point they were basically surrounc him and his fiance, and the guy said that she could go with him, and they went back to the resort and didnt come back out.

and keep in mind, this was a 5 star hotel resort ... so imagine the 1 star...

the only way i would go to jamacia is one of 2 ways:

1) w/ my friends who are from there and still have family there...

2) to an all inclusive resort

jamacia isnt exactly the safest of destination places

I wouldn't go to Jamaica unless I could take a militia of bodyguards with me. Hell I wouldn't even go then. There doesnt seem to be any redeeming qualities there.
