No more monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound.

Sit down. Plug a cable into your body. And everything you do now and I'm sure with this technology much much more.

Well... Would you do it?

Bill Gates, eat your heart out. Whoever does this could be the world's first individual trillionaire.

not w/o fda approval though 🙁

probably. not all the time, though... I mean, a lot of the time, I use my computer on the go (ie: checking e-mail as I'm getting ready for work, playing MP3's while I'm cleaning the apartment, or chatting with friends while watching tv), but it would be pretty cool for those times when i have hours to devote to messing around online.

I would be up for something such as this, infact I would volunteer to be the first to try it. For me atleast, a much faster internet connection would be required, maybe something like a T3 line, so you can just start tuning your brain in and flying through the internet.
You could also rule in online gaming.

er.....no.

Cool idea....but talk about addicting, the outside world would disappear to you...granted it would probably lead to advancements (imagine the benefits in a scientific/research setting) and evolutionary changes (brain bigger, body withered) and yes the gaming would be cool.

But my first thought was of Windows and security updates and spyware and viruses, followed quickly by, "well, if it's running Linux, maybe," then followed with, "oh crap, I'm not really that familiar with Linux at all---AAAHHHH TRAPPPED I'm MEltinG, MeLTIng aaaaaaaaahhh...".

So, I voted no.

Teh viruses.

Think they're effective now? Wait until you've got a computer in your head. When you're a vegetable, come back and say how good it'll be.

Oh, wait, you can't, SINCE YOU HAVE NO MIND ANYMORE! OH TEH NOES!
