I think making a significant move actually has very little to do with being single, married or, having local obligations. I believe most people have no great desire to explore new places, lifestyles or, work environments. Statistics seem to back it up with close to 50 percent of people dieing within 50 miles of where they were born.

Depends on where. Would I move to North Dakota for a new job? Highly unlikely. Someplace warmer than New England with a decent cost of living? Very likely.

Yea, it seriously depends on where the new job would be. I wouldn't want to live in the middle of nowhere.

From the poll, it looks like many of you would move with little hesitation. I wonder how many of you are under 25 and just renting an apartment? When you get older, there is a bit more fear/apprehension about moving to new places.

I'm in my mid-50's, own my house, (well, the bank owns more than I do) have grown children, (one with kids of her own), and I'd uproot in a heartbeat...IF the right opportunity came along. Sure, my wife would miss the grandkids, but we've talked about it at length, and we'd still move.

Only if it paid significantly more.

I can't move. Have too much invested in my business. I've zero interest in selling it either unless someone paid me multi-million dollars.
