**POLL** Would you get a Gameboy Advance SP or Gamecube?

I have an XBox already, but I'm trying to decide between a Gameboy Advance SP and a Gamecube, since prices are about the same right now.

I do stay on campus a lot, but most of the time on campus I'm on the internet/studying and listening to my iPod. It would be nice to have a Gameboy with me, but it's not really needed.

Gamecube, however, doesn't have *that* many great games. I really love Smash Brothers and Zelda looks really cool... but that's about it (I actually didn't really like Metroid). Hoping for a really cool Mario Kart to come out.

Gameboy, on the other hand, has a very impressive game library already (if i don't mind squinting at a 2" screen throughout all the Pokemon and Zelda games)

Which one would you get?

I'd go w/ a GC as I already have a GBA and while there are a lot of games available for it, I rarely use it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I don't see myself sitting down to finish a game on my bed, since I have a 40" TV right next to it. I would mainly use it on campus, but I have an iPod already~

I would definitely go with the Cube. While you might not like most of the games that are out now, there will be a lot more games coming in the future that will be excellent. Also, this May Nintendo will release the GameBoy Player for the Cube, which will allow you to play any GB game on the Cube on your TV, so you won't have to miss out on all the excellent GB games out there.

I'd go with the Gameboy Advance SP because if you want to play GC, just let me know and I'll bring it over. ;)

I'm spending my time divided between Zelda on GC and Pokemon Sapphire on GBA SP right now. Now for some multiplayer GBA games...

But if you get the GC, the GBA player is coming out soon, so you'll get the huge amount of games opened to you. Just the lack of true portability, although the GC is quite portable in a sense also...

I've been facing the same question myself.

I think I've finally decided on a Gamecube. Sure the GBA SP is nice and all but the games out there just don't appeal to me as much as Metroid Prime, Zelda, Super Smash Brothers, Eternal Darkness, Mario, etc etc etc do.

Plus I'm getting a brand new GC with Metroid Prime for $130 :D

don't have a Live subscription, but I have all the games I want right now, besides Splinter Cell and possibly some sports games (but i'm not into sports games really)

Right now, I have a decent library:

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Metal Gear Solid: Substance
Project Gotham Racing
Buffy
Simpsons Road Rage
Dead or Alive 3
Dead or Alive: XTreme Beach Volleyball
Halo
Mortal Kombat V

Basically I want a good RPG again :( (and Zelda might just do the trick)

lmao! no kidding.

go with the gc, yea a gpaSP would be nice to have sometimes, but why play a game on a 2" screen when you can play better ones on a 25" (or however big your tv is)

hm, which ones would you be interested in? Mortal Kombat I just got, Metal Gear Solid I never played, and hoped to play later on. Panzer Dragoon might be involved in a FS/FT for a Gamecube... and DOA3, DOA:Volleyball, and Halo are untouchables :)

How is DoA:XBV as a GAME?

It gave me like 40 hours of fun before boredom settled in. Truthfully it was a cool concept, and I got it before anybody knew anything about codes or whatnot, so me and a group of guys on the Tecmoboards forums were trying different combinations to see if anything would unlock.

It's a game worth paying for, IMHO. It's nowhere near Halo-caliber, and probably not even Dear or Alive 3 or so, but as a Volleyball game it's well thought out, and buying stuff and partnering up is innovative and so you have to put some thought into games and such.

It's also a great game to invite some friends over for some eye-candy.

What the hell am I saying, the intro video alone is worth the price of the game ;) The small amount of unlockables (videos, swimsuits, etc.) keep the game fun for at least 20-30 hours.

gba sp, but damn that's a lot of money. 100~ for the unit, not to mention games at 20-30 a pop. and even if i got a storage card for *ahem* other purposes, that card itself would set me back 100-300. So yea... too much!

Have a PS2 so I don't need a GC... but a GB for on the go would be sweet.

If only I had the cash :(

Nintendo will be releasing an adapter to use GBA games in the GC. So if you're not going to use it as a portable, that's your answer.
