Poll: Would a forum just for cars be in order?

No, this is a computer site, not a car site. Road & Track, Car and Driver, Edmunds, Cars.com, etc. each have forums. Car threads are off topic at a computer site, and therefore, belong right where they always are: in Off Topic.

I know some of you out there have massive servers you're in control of -- if you give me some webspace I'll set up a forum just for AT car enthusiasts in a jiffy. LMK. 🙂
 
Well if you think about it, cars and computers go hand in hand. They both need performance and cosmetic upgrades. In Cases and Coolings, we should have threads about bodykits and blowers! 🙂

Also the owner of this site is a car enthusaist and so is Zuni, the creator of this forum. It would only be natural to have a car forum in here.

I'll be building a forum for fun over the summer, although it won't be as good as FuseTalk. I'll host it on my server and build some OT forums. Since I will want to run some tests (bugs, scalability, etc.), neffing would be welcome in those forums. 🙂
 
I doubt theyd make a car forum...It would be too off-topic from everything else...perhaps if the off topic forum had subtopics it wouldnt be bad 😀
 
yes it would be in order and think it actually has a chance. the hot deals forum was created when to many posts on deals were in the general forum. if off topic has every third post on cars, there is a chance, but it's not guaranteed.

For general car forums go to edmunds.com. They have thousands of pages. Certain mods require specialty forums, maybe for specific types of forced induction (ie turbos, supercharger, etc.) Various forums out there for that. Or if you are really interested, actual car clubs, SCCA events, that sorta thing, you can get tons of advice and info.
