The audio is much, much better in windvd. Powerdvd has many different fast forward/rewind speeds, and this is the only feature is has that windvd does not have.

If you have powerdvd, turn up the volume and you will hear a strange mechanical sounding distortion.

Windvd=perfect dvd software, except it doesn't have the nice fast forward/rewind features.
PowerDvd=ok dvd software because the audio Sucks.

yup, u gotta get the newest versions b4 u can compare. windvd has been superior from the start, but the gap has been slowly closing. still the quality and certain features are still better.

I guess WInDVD is better but the DVD software that came with my dvd drive is PowerDVD. I have yet to use either actually.. :) Still waiting on my case, keyboard and mouse.

Only thing I like better on PowerDVD is the varying speeds of fast forwarding and fast reversing. But that's not enough to get me to use it regularly, even though I have them both installed.

actually using the jogshuttle wheel on windvd3+ u can vary speeds up to 20x. 1.5-2.0x still have normalized sound. then theres 4x 8x ..and i forget the rest;)

and yea, powerdvd did do a better job at getting packaged with hardware.

for some reason windvd 4.0 runs slow and cloppy on my computer.. but powerdvd 3.0 is smooth.. sometimes it just doesn't pay to upgrade

PowerDVD hands down.

An older version of WinDVD caused me problems with my Win2k and I had to format.
