I haven't had an update hurt my system yet... but I always have it automatically download the updates and prompt me to install them.

We have SUS over here at work, and we push down updates to all the systems over the domain automatically. At home, I just have it automatically download, and then prompt for install & reboot.

I have it set to download all updates automaticly and then prompt me before installing them so I can decide if one is going to hose my system or not.

check for updates manually about once every two weeks

The thing that is annoying with office updates is they require the cdrom, and I have it somewhere but cannot find it atm. how annoying.

i used to to the "download and notify" , with these latest worms, i have set many of them to "download and install at 3:00 am"

Where is the option for "I don't trust auto-update or trust M$ patches not to change/break in the future. I download the network admin version of the patches if its something I actually want to "fix", archive them, and apply manually."?
