Poll: Windows 2000 Hibernate Question

I tried, but AMD chipsets and VIA chipsets are notorious for poor APM and ACPI compatibility.

They like to go to sleep, or hibernate, but have troubles getting out! At least in my experience they have...and still do!!😉

I use Hibernate in place of a shutdown, but only on very rare occasions (e.g. when I'm off on a vacation for a week). At other times, I just Stand By my system for the night and leave it running during the day.

I use hibernate with Win2K. I have my computer shut down after two hours of non use, it then resumes my windows session directly from the hard disk when I start up again. I prefer it to stand-by.

Yes....it's convenient if I want to pop out for a few hours. Resumes from hard disk right from where I left off.
 
I don't use hibernation here, but the comp I have at home does have hibernation on as the power-save feature istead of standby. Standby doesn't really do jack with a desktop machine since for most machines the PSU is still on.

So if I leave it on and leave it for 30 minutes, it'll hibernate, and I won't have to worry about losing where I was in my work.
