Poll: win32 Shell replacements

And the point would be..? 😕

I figure many of the MS operatiing systems are screwed up enough as it is - introducing a shell replacement would likely introduce new problems. Folks that want a different look, more power and more configuration options, would probably just install some variant of Linux and the WINE emulator.

lol the only vote for any of those aside from what is it and none of the above is by the orignal author! WTF does this have to do with distributed computing anyway?

I messed around like that back when I had too much time to burn, not anymore - I hate reinstalling the os.

Well for one thing LiteStep only loads 19 processed on default, the use less memory that Win2k. Which may or may not help out with Seti!

There now the Poll is not off topic. 😉

LOL.

Both of my computers just run the standard Windows 2000 Pro shell (explorer.exe). I've never felt like risking things and installing one of the alternate shells. Despite the fact that they may or may not use as much memory, I just can't see how they would be faster with all the fancy graphics and stuff on my slow systems. 😕
