I know a lot of people were debating yesterday about Windows XP, so I'm curious to see just how many of you will use it.

For those of you that still don't know how to vote, simply click on the spreadsheet icon in the upper right-hand corner of my post.

<< Why? Win2k is full, the other is a stripped down version...what is the point? >>

HUH?

Windows XP is a lot newer than w2k... Im sorry, XP is NOT a stripped down version of w2k...man.. do some research...

Personally, I already have a copy of beta1 of Windows XP, and I did like it. It ran kinda slow, so I will wait a while and see how fast the newer versions run.. They say the home version and maybe pro will be released by end of this year.

Well, considering that I just ordered WIN2K this week (price finally dropped below $70 for the Upgrade - see "Hot Deals"), it will be a long time before I do any further O/S upgrading.

It depends on the (cheap) price and advantages for me to even consider an upgrade.

How much RAM do you have? I've heard reports saying anything under 64MB is not nearly enough, and even with 64MB it runs kind of slow.

probably. i really don't mind paying for it either. i do wonder something though: since xp will also be the home version of windows, unlike 2k, game manufacturers will be forced to write games friendly to the os. xp is a derivative of the 2k kernel. does that mean games compatible with xp will be compatible with 2k as well?

If somebody gives it to me as a gift, maybe. I'm certainly not shelling out the cash for it. It's too fluffy and bloated.
Now Blackcomb on the other hand looks interesting enough to buy.
