Some of what I'm writing here could be seen as very minor spoilers, so don't read if you mind that sort of thing. Don't worry, nothing major.
I said No to the poll, but my friends dragged me there tonight. The consensus is that it sucked. You thought that the dialogue in The World Is Not Enough was bad? Nothing compared to this one. Yes Frost was very hot.
It struck me as very funny that there were scenes that took place with all dialogue taking place between supposed North Koreans, and like one line would be spoken in Koren (with subtitles) and then the whole rest of the scene would be in British-sounding English. And all of the instruments on the plane were in English, as was the Korean guy's Palm Pilot-like device in the opening scene. I liked the bad guy with the diamonds in his face. Seeing an Asian guy with blue eyes is cool.
Halle Berry is way overrated in terms of acting ability and in terms of attractiveness. I can honestly state that I didn't find her attractive through the whole movie. And she spoke her lines badly as well. The lines were bad to begin with, though, so I guess I can't fault her 100%.....
Several of the major plot points were very formulaic. If you've seen one Bond movie, you've seen them all. One particular event will have you thinking "Oh, I didn't see *that* coming a mile away!". Although they did play a funny little trick towards the end
positives: the swordfighting between Bond and Graves was awesome. The cars were cool. I got the feeling of driving through a parking garage in that chase scene with the palace. The Madonna song wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be.
Overall, a waste of $7.50 and my evening. It's a pretty damn long movie.
