For the same price as SDRAM, yep, for the actual price, I would first buy me a Ferrari Maranello 550!

Um... oh yeah, actually.
Of course I want a proprietary standard Intel took a grip on in order to sell memory for three times what the competitors do, and hide the cost in systems with the "Intel inside" logo on for the label conscious and the dummies who get scared of bulltish scare stories of incompatibility with rival AMD.
Of course I love it even more because it hardly outperforms the competition...
after all don't I have a neon sign saying "I AM AN ESPECIAL FUkKING RETARD" over my head?

Higherground, I have to add one more stipulation:

3) The CEO, CFO, and board of directors of Rambus all have to publicly stick their between their heads between their legs and kiss their own arse, then issue a public statement acknowledging that they misrepresented, fabricated, and downright lied about the performance of Rambus.

There are three things that will never enter my house:

1) Intel
2) RAMBUS
3) AOL

:)

I haven't had an Intel processor since my 486DX2/66 .. Hehe..

If it was faster than DDR SDRAM, and about the same price (perhaps more expensive proportional to it's speed increase) then yes I probably would. I have a strong personal dislike for Rambus, but I have a strong personal dislike for nVidia's PR department to and my next video card is still going to be a GF2MX. I have a strong dislike for intel because they tried to pressure people into not making Athlon mobo's, I have a strong dislike for Creative for sinking Aureal...anyways the list goes on...but I don't let those things choose my purchases for me. I choose which suits my needs best.

So yes, I'd still use Rambus if it suited my needs (cost/speed) best, I just don't find that very likely.

Have there been any real benchmarks for the p4, or compilers that were made to take into account the P4? No? Whats that, I personally think AMDs next gen cpu will suck, do you wanna know why? Oh wait, I dont have a reason....

I notice most people picked the "Rambus is suck" option. Don't get me wrong, Rambus does suck big time. But if it was cheaper and faster than DDR RAM, why on earth wouldn't you buy it?

No. A factor in included in this decision is the fact that Intel is closing their public forum.
