Who said I hate Hilary? I just:

--don't like the idea of dynasties in the USA
--will thoroughly miss the poise, elegance, success, and general badass speechifying of Barry. Kinda like when we went from Bill to B-Dubs. total let-down.

Hilary will make a fine president, but she will never be anyone that you want to stop and listen to.

I hear this a lot, but I just want to point out that calling the Clintons a dynasty is a huuuge stretch.

1. It's been 16 years since Bill left office
2. Clinton is running far more on her record as Senator and SoS than anything she did as FLOTUS.
3. She's not related to Bill by blood

I BELIEVE should it indeed sink in to him that he'll lose and that it is inevitable, he'll "quit" the race, in sort-of a fit.
For him it won't matter whether he throws the "it's rigeegggggeed!!!" fit after the election, or before it commences.
However, it would have strategical advantages for him to exit prematurely and start the raging before the results of the election, so yes, I think he will. I am actually very certain he will.
That being said I am also not sure whether he'd attend the 3rd debate.

Bush - Clinton - Bush - gap (but almost Clinton) - Clinton.

It's really quite nuts--and blood doesn't matter because the monarchies married in and out to keep their dynasties going. Hell, it kinda starts with Reagan because that is Where Bush 1 slimed on to the scene.

This isn't anything against Bill or Hilary directly, just the distaste that I have for the concept of dynasties in the USA.

Again, I think the fact that they had to be elected is a major difference. Both Clinton and Jeb Bush were defeated in primaries. It also doesn't seem likely to continue, as Chesea Clinton hasn't really shown the kind of political ambition her parents have, and I don't see any more Bush's making a serious run for president.

I think Hillary is more impressive than Bill. I wonder if he would have been the First Gentleman of Arkansas if they'd come along 30 years later.

Yes, you're right on that.

Political families have played prominent roles in US history-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_political_families

The notion that the Clintons are a dynasty isn't really true. They're of the same generation. The Bush clan is a dynasty going back 4 generations.

I guess the reality is that blood really doesn't matter because that class is so fricking inbred--The Bushes and Clintons are related via the Windsors. 😱

And the Windsors were established from Paternal Germans in the past, it's a latent Nazi plot before there were Nazi's !

Sorry, was just kidding a bit about the Nazi thing.

Just more proof that it's a Nazi plot, shows they had a working time machine, and have clearly kept anyone else from getting one since no one has gone back in time to kill Hitler.

the fuel light will be on but it'll manage to pull into the station with a choking sputter.

Probably.

I think more than anything it will depend on what is best for the Trump brand.

He wouldn't give two shits of what it does to the ticket or the rest of the GOP.

I think much of the election rigging talk is a way to build a base of crazies, sorry, consumers and storylines, for Trump brand entertainment post election. He has a perfect platform right now to begin planting seeds.

Just think of all the loony conspiracy theories we will be subjected to if a TRUMP TV/Radio network is established?

The more I think about it the more I wish that SNL were actually hosting this last debate complete with a bottle of Jack Daniels and shot glasses on the moderators table so they can take a shot as needed during the course of the thing.

Winning is not what he's about, never mind what he says. His ugliness will persist through election day.

Declaring that he's suspending his campaign would only add to the ignominy he will suffer. He'd be known as the presidential candidate who quit <3 weeks before election day, has that every happened before? I don't think so. The thrashing and gnashing of teeth will persist and intensify. The next debate will likely be the ugliest, most despicable. The Democrats probably have more ammunition in reserve, but it's apparently unnecessary to use it.

Trump brand is suffering. He's making plenty of enemies now. Myself, I wouldn't buy anything Trump branded, ever, be it a presidential candidate, a bottle of wine, a hotel room, a tie, you name it.

Trump network? That's a risky affair. It would take a lot of money, a solid backing I doubt he's going to get. There may be a large population of unstable people cheering for him now, but how solid will that base be going forward?

Going forward, the upper end of his brand in luxury resorts & golf courses is probably shot, not because rich white dudes won't like him, but because they don't want to be clumped with the rabble he's associated with now. But in aggregate he's gained so much racist/bigoted middle class support that he is almost certainly coming out ahead commercially speaking.

Supposedly O'Reilly and Hannity both have clauses that can break their contracts if Ailes is out, and Trump already has the Breitbart guy on-board. I suspect that's why he's claiming it's all rigged now that he knows he can't win, and generally throwing mainstream conservatives including those at Fox under the bus right now.

The guy's disgusting, but he's not stupid. That was evident enough from the start when you could see the gears turning inside his head when calculating to disavow the klan or not.

That reminds me of the time when someone on this forum mentioned how our legislators should wear suits with their sponsor's badges and patches above their pockets and on their backs.

However, in the same spirit that you mention how the last debate should be formatted, I'd like to see a format that's closely similar to the Jerry Springer Show, with Jerry Springer actually "moderating" it.

I think that should even the odds a bit in Trump's favor, because he has more reach than Hillary. 😉

Nah that wouldn't work either as Hilary would hire some distractions to line the front row with and each time the Don would move against her the distractions would do their thing allowing Hilary to land some good blows.

Saw last night that Trump's son-in-law met with a media lender to check on financing Trump TV.

In a way, he's already quit. Since the Access Hollywood video came out, he's not doing anything related to normal campaigning. He's still having rallies, but they're only for him to bitch about the media, say the election is rigged, etc.. There is no mention of policy or attempting to increase his base. There is no space left in the day to talk about anything other than the scandal du jour or what his ridiculous response to it is.

He might've quite the campaign but not the long scam.
