I think it's safe to say that at this point Apple can launch any type of product and it is nearly guaranteed to be a commercial success.
I look at the iPad just about the same way I did when it launched. It's a giant iPod touch with the same limited UI (important because that's the one thing you'll spend most of your time with over the device's lifetime). A lot of useful apps to be sure, but I personally just can't get over Apple's mantra of not providing options.
To be clear, I don't think Android tablets are there either. Maybe the Transformer 2 will be the one. I'm also looking forward to what Apple brings with the iPad 3.
