I posted the pic of my cutie pie🙂
Let me say a few words since I speak from experience owning quite a few of these little fur balls over the past couple/few years😛
1) Ferrets do not stink if you have them descented and "fixed." I have had guests come into my home and were shocked to find the cage and ferrets but no smell.
2) If you dont have time to care for them properly and give them good outside the cage time, please do not take on this responsibilty. They need to run and explore and play😀
3) Baby attacks are very grossly exaggerated. Of course like any animal around a small child or toddler, you must be a responsible care giver and parent.
4) Cage cleaning will be a daily task no doubt. Newspaper or a litter box will help tremendously. Yes, ferrets are quite easily taught to use a litter box. I have had all of mine trained to use the potty in their cage just before play time and only very, very rarely had them have an "accident."
5) Feed them a high quallity diet (not cat food) and the cage cleaning is brought down to a minimum as well. High quality ferret food is a must for their health and well-being😀
Ferrets are a joy to own and have for pets in my opinion😉
EDIT: I also have 2 kids under the age of 5 and while it does make for an interesting household, it isnt impossible to maintain it.
