I simply said that while the U.S is the greatest threat to international security in the short-term, over the long run I believe such temporary disruptions of the peace will pay big dividends. What exactly did you find so troublesome about that sentiment?

I disagree with Israel being a significant threat to international security. The USA is Israel's enabler . . . as long as we wink and speak with forked tongues when it comes to the Palestinian plight . . . Sharon will continue to be a poophead. Anyone that contends Israel has enjoyed greater security under Sharon and Bush than Clinton and Barak apparently slept from 1996-2000. If Bush had an ounce of Blair's sincerity when it comes to Middle East peace, Israelis and Palestinians would be making progress towards peace . . . plus Bush might have real allies in his campaign against Saddam.

Being behind the bully is typically thought of as safer than in front of the bully. Not a comment on the US at all, just the way I see the US citizens that voted for the US on this poll.

obvious answer is the terrorist group, they are the biggest threat because they can act singlehandly without fear of international sanction, etc.. Where is Iran anyway?

Love how the country that fought for freedom worldwide in 2 wars is labeled the bigest threat.

Just don't ask for our help when you need it if you feel the need to criticize....

The way the American government is going is preventing WWIII, you just don't realize what is going on. Leaving dictators in power to destabalize a region of the world is part of what is wrong with the world. The hate and fear of the oppressed people is like a cancer in that region. It must be removed.

There will never be stability in the middle east as long as there are Jews in Israel. Replacing an Arab dictator with an American one isn't going to help. These hatreds go back almost 4,000 years, they won't go away in our lifetimes.

Crap, the Israeli/Palestine issue is at best a small border skirmish. It has been used as a distraction by the rulers of the other ME countries to explain why their people are so poor and downtrodden.

What's amazing is that Saddam has killed many more Arabs than the Israelis and yet some Arabs still defend him. There need to be some independent news organazations set up over there.

The ignorance is running rampant through our schools, too many people have ideas based on what they think they know, and not what they have experienced. Get out and see the real world, I did, and I'm glad I'm an American!

In their minds, those things are irrelevant. Rational or not, the militant branch hates America for one single reason: we aid Israel. So until their holy land is cleared of infidels the terror will continue. Whether you're a fundamentalist Christian crusading against evolution in textbooks or a fundamentalist Muslim crusading against invaders, logic and reason are not applicable.

I read somewhere recently that the USA might be guilty of using WMD's.

The depleted uranium shells used recently are supposedly illegal under UN rules.
