I Saw the Kobe Vs. MJ thread... I don't really think that applies... I've never considered that to be something worth comparing... what I'm seeing now in the playoff is something that should be compared...

Who's better MJ or Iverson?

Granted... MJ had Pippen and has won titles but based on skill alone.. who would be better?

BTW: I'm a lakers fan.

There is still no match for Michael Jordan, or Magic Johnson. It doesn't matter which MJ you're talking about. Kobe was amazing in game 1 against the Spurs, but after that, he was just as good as any other star on any other team. Iverson is going to put the 76'ers on top this season, but it won't be the same force that both MJ's provided for their teams for years.

Now, if the Spurs could just pull their pants back up and figure out how to make shots, we will see the ultimate TEAM.

How can you compare a 6'6" guy with a barely 6' kid? Can Iverson play the forward postion? I think not, there is no comparison, MJ is way better!

thank goodness no one has yet voted for Iverson! Let him win a champion ship before you start comparing

This is a ridiculous question...Iverson, of course. Just kidding :). You really can't compare anyone to Jordan, it is like comparing a baseball player to Babe Ruth, there really isn't anyone even close.

When Iverson gets three championship rings, and as many Championship Series MVP awards, then we can begin to entertain this question.

MJ, no doubt. Has Iverson ever been featured on "Bill Swershi's Superfans" on SNL?
Has Iverson ever danced around with Chris Farley in a grass skirt and coconut bra, on national tv? NO. Thats my .02.

<< I've never considered that to be something worth comparing >>

And you consider an MJ and AI comparison worthwhile?? I love Iverson's game and all, but MJ comes out on top all the time.

I am one of the more pro-Iverson people on ATOT and not even I am that dumb.

I hated the Bulls back in the day, but Jordan always had my respect, especially after he did Saturday Night Live and the fake add was him in a douche add.

It is completely unfair to MJ, Al, or Kobe to even attempt to make these comparisons at this juncture. MJ is a basketball legend, a player that changed the way the game is played. You can see the obvious respect that both of these guys have for MJ, simply by watching them play. To attempt to raise Al or Kobe to that level this early in their careers is an exercise in futility. Each of them is trying very hard to play at that caliber, and one or both of them may eventually become as much a legend as Jordan ever was, but it is way too soon to tell.

You will likely burn in hell for that remark.

Look what happened to the Red Sox when they got rid of him. Hell, Maris' hair fell out when he got close to the record.

Don't eff with The Sultan of Swat

This would be a question better asked when Iversons career is finished. But comparing both Kobe or AI to Jordan at this point is ridiculous.
Its almost as ridiculous as another comparison i heard this year:Dirk Nowitzki to Larry Bird.

I agree Kobe may very well kick ivys butt one on one....but thats not how they play the game...pound for pound AI is every bit the player Kobe Bryant is.
They dont just hand out MVP awards to anyone...

I would take Iverson over Jordan easily since Jordan at age 38 (?) probably has seen his best days.

The only reason Kobe would probably beat AI one on one is b/c he's much bigger. AI definitely has more skills than Kobe & call me crazy, but I honestly think he has more talent than Jordan did at his age.

You people are morons. Call Kobe some sort of loser because he had a bad game, it's the only bad game he has had in the last 20 games. The only reason why this is being brought up is because he had a good night. Let's see is this thread still exists when he has another one of his 5/27 nights in game 2, and Kobe will get his 30-35 points in the same night. The Kobe/Jordan comparisons will be back.

*wonders why the Jordan/Iverson comparisons don't exist when he has 5/27 nights*
