obviously the question isn't too far out of whack.. the poll puts MJ at 16 and AI at 8.... I think this poll is Closer than the Kobe vs. MJ thread.

I really don't care for the lakers because they are so arrogant. At the same time, I have to admit that Kobe is the best raw skilled player i have ever seen. I still like Michael Jordan better for his overall ability to score, leadership, charisma...ect. but Kobe is awesome. Iverson is also a great basketball player but to say that he is under the same catergory as Jordan is an insult.

As I sit here today I will say there will NEVER be another Michael Jordan... he is the Jesus Christ of basketball.

Then again, I never thought it EVEN POSSIBLE for someone to hit 70 homeruns in a seaon...

I am a Sixers fan I can't even say Iverson is better. MJ is a basketball god man. There will never be another "air" Jordan.

<< dude, kobe will kick iverson's ass in one on one. this isn't even a comparison between iverson and michael >>

No he wouldn't. Kobe got his azz punked by Al. I'm going to throw up if I see anymore of these fair-weathered fans stroke Kobe.

You people are morons. Call Kobe some sort of loser because he had a bad game, it's the only bad game he has had in the last 20 games. The only reason why this is being brought up is because he had a good night. Let's see is this thread still exists when he has another one of his 5/27 nights in game 2, and Kobe will get his 30-35 points in the same night. The Kobe/Jordan comparisons will be back.

*wonders why the Jordan/Iverson comparisons don't exist when he has 5/27 nights*

i wonder the same thing. people on this board know nothing about bball, that much is obvious.

look at iversons numbers for the milwaukee series:

5/56
5/27
14/31
13/31
DNP
17/30 (something like that) <-- one good game out of 7!

<sarcasm>now if that isnt jordanesque i dont know what is!!</sarcasm>

compare him to mj??? LOL. compare him to master p maybe (master p is a raper who played (plays?) ball for the cba, i bet most of you are wondering what cba stands for, and you claim to know about bbal, how sad

<< iverson got punked by TYRONE LUE!! >>

Who shot the game winning shots? Who was guarding him? nuff said. You went from Kobe being god to worshipping Lue? LOL. Lue could only guard or hold or whatever Al because Al played the whole game and lue was fresh. What happened when lue got tired? Al kept goin'. Take your blinders off fanboy and watch the game w/o bias and you'll enjoy it and learn more. ;)

Lue overplayed and got steals at least twice, hit a 3 down the stretch too...but as PJ said, no such thing as an AI stopper

I'm bringing this thread back up because this proves what I said in my last post. People scoff Kobe because he had a bad game, comes right back like I predicted, 31 points on 11/23 shooting, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals. Iverson is inconsistent, Kobe isn't. Game one was the first bad game he had since March 21st when he played against Milwaukee. When was the last time Iverson had a game? Take your pick and the multiple playoff games he has had with extremly poor performances.

God, I am sooo sick of these polls. Why can't people just let people be people? We're all different and MJ will never be Kobe/Iverson and Kobe/Iverson will never be MJ. Let it die already.

MJ = Micheal Jordan :p

I say definetly MJ, although I can't agree he will be the best there ever will be because that is just impossible to say.

Although I will never forget in Iverson's first year when MJ was guarding Iverson and Iverson faked left Jordan commited and Iverson cross over and went the other way completely schooling MJ. If I were Iverson that would have been the greatest moment of my life to know that I just dissed MJ. However, I'm pretty sure it only happened once and probably had a lot to do with luck, but I gotta say I never get tired of watching that highlight when they show it on ESPN.

well, if you compare Iverson today vs MJ today, I would say that Iverson is better, MJ is like 38 now, and when he comes back, he will NOT be his old self. But I bet he can still light it up for 25 points a night, and take charge in the playoffs.

If you look at MJ and Iverson when they were the same age, then Jordan is clearly superior.

I love AI but he is no Jordan. Jordan won six titles, six mvps, 9 scoring titles, and etc etc etc etc. If AI worked on his inconsistent jump shot, he would be the most dangerous man in the game today. And could be one of the greatest ever it he does that, his talent is that superior. But if and until then and if he wins at least a couple of championships, to mention him with Jordan is kinda whack. And believe me I hate MJ. Don't everybody wanna be like Mike, damnit.

I can't believe Iverson has gotten that many votes in the poll. How soon we forget! Michael Jordan in his prime was easily the most dominant basketball player I have ever seen. He could do everything imaginable on the offensive end and he was a force defensively as well. Iverson is a good player, but it's just no contest.

oh my goodness...how can yall even make comparisons like this????
did yall ever see MJ play or are yall too young to remember???
not only is MJ the most dominant player ive ever seen, hes also NOT A WHINY LITTLE GIRL LIKE IVERSON. Every 2 seconds Iverson is crying to the refs. Wait a couple years and let him mature and develop some 'team' skills and we'll see... he thinks he is the shiznits, but hes not
