Baaaaahahahahah the Cubs beat the Sox by over 10,000 a game!! This is for a last place team as compared to the "YEAH WE GOT THE BEST RECORD IN THE AL" Sox.

SF Giants... Hmm, I wonder why attendance was up 60%? Was it because you were winning games? Some loyal fans those are.

A's ... see above, though I have to admit, 21,000 a game ain't nothin to be proud of.

You wanna watch baseball in 3com, the park from hell? part of the reason their attendance was up was because they have a new ballpark. The past few seasons Giants have also been near the top of their division even though every year someone writes them off saying "the money grubby dodgers will sweep the division away" or stupid crap like "with johnson and schilling the dback's are unbeatable"

network associates colisseum is not fan friendly, but better than old 3com. i've been in all three bay area ballparks, so i know from experience. plus the a's are young and people don't neccessarily expect much from them except to grow. well looky here they're hosting the dead yankees, who couldn't even muster home field advantage in the first round.

Plus the Yankees paid for their team, with their 118 million dollar payroll. the a's brought their talent up through their system and let them grow and mature. of course they make their mistakes. they're young, but they can play. the yankees have no excuse with their overpriced talent.

<< Plus the Yankees paid for their team >>

You know why we have the biggest payroll? Because we're giving that scrub Cone 15 million.

<< the a's brought their talent up through their system and let them grow and mature. >>

Hmm, have you ever heard of Jeter, Posada, Bernie, Pettite, or Rivera? Well if you haven't let me remind you who they are. They are our 5 best players, and yes they were all from our farm system. I don't want to hear how we "bought Justice and Hill" because we didn't, in case you missed past transactions, we TRADED for them.

[edit]

Actually Cone is making $12 million.

Four of the five I mentioned top that list. Hey, we can't help it that they command such high salaries and we can afford it. We bring up good talent and they develop into superstars. In case you haven't noticed, superstars don't play for peanuts.

Prodigy 69 - Most of the Sox fan's are not fair weather fans. We support the Sox, but we hate the owner. He has turned many fans away with the way he has been running the team. Yes it is a shame that the attendence sucked so much but you have to consider why. The stadium sucks beyond all belief. The upper deck is the worst in the majors. The owner wanted to add another row of sky boxes and this raised the upper deck into the stratoshpere. Also, when he decided to build the new stadium, he demolished the few remaining bars around the part, totally killing the atmosphere around it. The part is has the ghetto on two sides of it. One wrong turn after the game and your history. The owner will not put any money back into the community and he just keeps raping the fans for more money. The owner is a real asshole. He voted to strike back in 94? and his team was favored to win it all. Everyone actually thought that they had chance that year and the jackass votes to strike. I can go on and on about how horrible it is but I won't. The Sox actually have a better fan base than the Cubs do. Wrigly is nice but most of the fans are tourists that want to see Wrigly. Its a nice place and I certainly would suggest anyone to go and visit. I have been a sox fan all of my life and will continue to be. They did a hell of a job this season. I hope that they can learn from this sucky post season and will be better next year. Oh wait, maybe the owner will trade some of the good players so he can build the team some more. :|

Well, if the new Anandtech softball team doesn't completely take the country by storm, I'm betting on the Yanks. A number of rings in the 30's says somethin'.

My fav teams:
ANANDTECH!
Braves
Mariners
Yanks

prodigy69: NUKE NUKE NUKE
have u been to Pac Bell Park? I was there the other day. The attendence is up cause of the PARK. 3com was the worst park, with the wind and all. Most ppl probably just wanna see the new par😀

i agree with the earlier complaints about the term world series. How can they say world, when its always played at YANKEE STADIUM!!! 🙂

optoman & littleman, although I do believe the quality of the stadium accounts for some of those numbers, look at the Mets. I think Shea Stadium is THE worst in all of MLB (I went there for a Subway Series last season). But the Mets still pull 36,000 per game.

Depends if the AT Softball team can stabilize their rotation and they also need to get their bats swinging. If they can jump out and get an early lead, & get 6 strong innings out of their starter, I'm pretty confident their pen can hold the lead.
