Well, who could there be for a running mate?

Gephart - Na

Kucinich (sp) Na

Lieberman? NO

Hillary? Na, wants the brass ring

McCain isn't going to switch

Maybe maybe Dean. That could help with Nader siphoning away votes, but I dont know if he would take it.

Clark? I believe he would try to run the show. Kerry won't allow that.

Dean is the best answer I can come up with.

John Edwards but my guess is Dean is pushing to get his arse added to the ticket.

If he picks Hillary, I'm voting for Daffy Duck.

I really don't see him picking Dean. Two people from the north will not win. If the VP is from the previous list of Democrats running for President, my guess is also Edwards. Hillary is the wild card but it's a big stretch for her to be the VP.

If McCain accepts the offer to run for VP, I don't think he will have to switch, but remains a Republican, which would be the first in history. I don't know if that's feasible, but, hey, I would be more comfortable.

McCain in an interview did stated that if he's extended the offer, he would accept it.

I'd actually argue that he was on topic

And also on topic, I think Kerry should choose Edwards though I'd predict that he'll choose someone else

Why don't you want the Dub to win? There is no way in hell that Independents will vote for Kerry if the Scary Bitch is his running mate and that's the vote that either Candidate needs to garner if they hope to yin in November.

I certainly won't vote a woman as vice president. What if Kerry dies? I did not vote for Gore because of Lieberman. His not acknowledging Jesus Christ is the decision maker for me on that one. Kerry needs a Christian running mate to balance out his Catholicness.

I agree. There's a lot of people in the south who are going to look at him and go "Damn northerner." If he's smart, he'll try to counteract that by picking a southerner. Both Edwards and Clark would be good choices I think. I'd like clark myself, but I think Edwards upbeat attitude would help more in the polls.

Dean, like some one said, would basically just draw negative press to him. I think Dean made a lot of mistakes early on by flying off the handle all the time. If I were Kerry, I would distance myself from that. Hilary is not going to happen. McCain would be cool, but party lines are too deeply drawn for this to happen and it would likely hurt him as much as it helped him.

So I think Edwards. Kerry is still as a board, but Edwards has some charisma...frankly I'm not sure how Kerry beat him in the primaries given they share a lot of the same ideas.

If McCain would accept, I think Kerry would offer it. That would be the best thing for the country, so maybe it will happen, I think Kerry and McCain care about the country, maybe even more than their own aspirations. McCain I'm sure does.

But realistically it would be Edwards, or mabe Graham from Florida, if he is over his health problems.

I think it'll be Edwards or this New Mexico governor Bill Richardson. Read up about him. He is a Hispanic man, which would appeal to that demographic that Bush pretty much already controls. Interesting guy really.

And Cad please stop with your whole Kerry isn't a good person, what makes him not a good person? He won't win because of who he is? Look at who you are for you moron. Bush lie's, lie's and more lie's. The fact that Kerry served this country while Bush was running from the war makes Kerry a bad person? The fact that his own personal agenda led to the war of Iraq because Saddam went after his father? I think we all know who is the lesser of two evils here. Maybe you should just be lay down at night in bed pondering very hard on who is the better person here. Bush can't even go anywhere without Cheney, at least Kerry can be independent. Think of the war that we didn't need to get into because of Bush, he sure as hell is willing to send troops off to war when the time comes Bush runs from it himself... Grow up and think hard.. I'm sick of your republican bs about how great Bush is, he's an idiot, leave it at that.

Maybe you should read the thread before you go off on a rant like that. "because of who he is" was about the VP choice;) Meaning that I don't think the VP choice(because of who he is) will "ensure" it for kerry.

Everyone clear on this yet?

I apologize for it, but you can understand if you would read what you said again, that it can easily be interpreted as a comment about Kerry's character.. Still the facts remain about Bush, and every poll indicates that if John Edwards were to become his VP nominee he pulls ahead of Bush by as many as 7 or 8 points.. that just may do it. But a lot can change from now and November. I don't think anyone can say Bush or Kerry will win for sure, it is going to be extremely close race, prehaps as close as the 2000 election, who knows, but I really do hope that Bush doesn't get reelected, IMO he is a very dangerous man.

Hey that would be another great choice ! I always thought Richardson did a great job in his various positions.

He would also be an excellent presidential candidate at some point.
