I don't really have a "Favorite Chipset" but I'm very satisfied with the KT266A board in my main rig but the Sis735 in my other rig is certainly no slouch either

so far, my favorite chipsets for stability, speed, and just plain goodness, have been my Via KT133A and Via KT266A

they have been rock solid, good overclocking, and just plain FINE since i have had either of them running...

Always have been rock solid for me. VIA and SiS are a close second. No experience with anything else yet.

For my computers, I've had nothing but Intel and nVidia. My dad on the other hand has had other stuff and they were no good, so that just reinforces my opinion.

Oh, computers  . . . BX . . . still working after nearly 4 years (from a O/c'd 333 Celeron to a O'C/d 1.2Ghz Tualatin Celeron) . . . I'll miss it when I upgrade . . . soon (I hope).

kt133a. ALthough my PC freezes sometimes, I think it's win98 problem not chipset problem

I'm not quite sure how to answer the poll. I bought an Asus P2B-F back in '98 (for my 400mhz PII), and it's been rock solid ever since I first put it in service. It's now my backup Linux box.. On the other hand, I've recently purchased an Asus A7V266-E/Athlon XP1800+ combo, and it's been rock solid as well.

I'm giving my PII machine to my brother, so I may soon be in the market for another PC. I'm not sure if I'll go the Athlon or P4 route, get a PowerMac G4 (!), or wait for SledgeHammer (or Opteron or whatever they're calling it this week).. It probably won't be the Mac, though..
