POLL: who does NOT have a cell phone these days?

Don't have one, could afford one, don't really need one. At school, I have landline with answering machine, AIM, email, mailing address... Means of communication with me are abundant and I don't need to be reached every minute of the day. If/when I get into a serious relationship, that may change but for the time being no. I'm also on phone cards, but since everyone else has cell phones I just have them call me back. 20 years old.

no cell phones are evil. I heard that recently (in the past year or 2) that the number of cell phones in the US surpassed the number of landlines. I just don't have a need for one, and they're sooo expensive. When I'm out somewhere and need to call someone, I just borrow one of my friends cell phones. That is rare though, cause I really don't call ppl that much.

I second that.

I do like watching all the dorks walking around with their headsets that HAVE to be talking to someone in public. I like making funny faces at em.

i've had a cell for years... only 3 phones ( i try to keep the same one for a while) and 3 different providers. quite happy with my current!

I don't have one I'm 20 Im sure I'll get one someday once I have more of a need for one and also have the money for one.

I have one yes, but it is NEVER charged and I NEVER use it.
$20 a month wasted.

I dont get who all these peopel ahve to talk to so desperatly NOW. On occasion sure I would like to have mine in my pocket, but I get by w/out it.

I carry a PDA, GBA and a digital camera always on me, but still have not bought a cell phone for myself.

I'm 17. I don't need one, I don't want one, and I have better stuff to spend my money on.

Oh, and every cellphone still in production is ugly as balls and designed for use by 13 year old girls. If I *needed* one, I'd have to buy a candybar phone and an old AMPS phone and kitbash the electronics from the candybar one into the AMPS body just to be able to respect myself carrying it around and using it. I know someone that agrees and has done just that with a CDMA candyphone.

And while I'm at it - my phone would RING (either that or vibrate). Not fvcking play a cheezy, cliche'd song or angst anthym. And games on cell phones are for 5-year-olds.

yea...what a dilemma.

Any parent that issues their 13 year olds cellphones to take with them to school, the mall and movie theaters should be shot on sight.

Had it, got tired of having a ball and chain strapped to me so I dumped it.

I've got a pager that very few people have the number to, else you can leave me a voice mail or email me.

Yup, they are convenient if you are on the go a lot. All of my friends except 1 or 2 carry them as well. I don't use it a ton, maybe a couple hundred minutes a month.

My fiancee and I have a family plan, which is great because we have unlimited minutes between us so we never pay extra to get a hold of each other. I'm also glad I have one whenever there are dangerous driving conditions.

Edit: I'm 25 BTW

The dumb bitch next door almost lost her house. It was about to be put up for sheriff's auction, but by God, she still has her GD cell phone! I've almost never seen her without it pressed against her thick skull. Even dragging garbage cans out to the curb, she's talking on the damn thing. The dumb sh|t!
IMO, she's probably just your average cell phone user...

I actually have 2 personal cell phones (I'm in the process of transitioning between numbers). But with rates as low as $40 CAD a month (all fees included, except taxes) which is about ~$30 USD for unlimited local calling, it makes it very very tempting.

I have one and I'm 18. I do not have a landline because it's a waste of money IMO for me. Plus, I can carry my phone around with me and anyone can call me at any time.

I don't have one cause I don't need one... I'm not popular enough to justify the cost 😀 ... and my job doesn't require one since I'm unemployed at the moment =)

Cell phones will probably replace our family land line within a year.

I have a feeling that more people have celll phones than this survey reflects. from my experience anyway. I got my first cell phone about 4 months ago and im 21.
