Hi.
Who do you lot think are the best new age rock band?
If you are wondering why some bands arnt listed, its because im going on bands that are/have done well globaly, not just in the US, or just in the UK.
If you can think of some more to add, then just shout up, and i`ll add them.
If you reccommend a US band that me (from the UK) have never heard of, then i wont add them. And visa versa for UK/Europe people suggesting UK/Europe bands.

Other possbile addition are;
Sum 41 - Havnt relesed nout in the UK for a bit.
Alien Ant Farm - Same as above.
Lost Prophets - Not sure how popular in the US, and havnt released any known chart music.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Not sure if you can class as "new age"
Busted - Not sure of how popular in US, or if can be classed as rock at all.
The Calling - Same as AAF.
Avril Lavigne - Not sure if can be classed as rock.

Comments on if i should/shouldnt add the above please.

That list = teh suck. I voted for RHCP since they are the only decent band on the list anyway (besides Evanescence or Alien Ant Farm)

"New Age Rock" is a valid term? I'm with fanerman91 in thinking that New Age is like Enigma, Delerium, Enya, Loreena McKennick, and others of that ilk. Linkin Park et al is more like "NuMetal", and RHCP is unclassifiable.

RHCP do not belong on this list. And New Age doesn't really fit here. Current rock bands might be more fitting, or "Nu Metal."

FLock of Seagulls is the defiantive "New Wave" band.
I was just joking, but I bet few people here remember them, or the Vapors " I think I'm Turnign Japapnese".

Flock of Seagulls had a song called "Space Age Love Song", among others... And I do remember the Vapors. I guess I'm showing my age..

I think the term you're looking for is "cheese metal" with the exception of RHCP.

I`ll rename everything to new metal then.
UglyCassanova, as ive said, im going on bands that are known gloablly. Not US only. Im sure that there are alot of US bands than the UK/Europe havnt heard of, and visa-versa.

Lol, nah I'm just in shock & awe that you think Enya is classical. :p
Heh, I guess if your parents listen to it then it is classical.

<--btw, not a big Enya fan.

Bleagh! You used the word "metal" to describe those bands!??! If you want "new" metal, then In Flames, Soilwork and Arch Enemy are the tops. Those guys on the list are posers.

Out of that list though, I must say I respect Linkin Park, even if I'm not a fan of their music. Sum 41 is very underrated as well, especially since people (myself included) tend to dismiss them as "just another punk band." The rest, well, just plain suck :p
